I'm
reading Making Your Dreams Come True and participating in a
class led by one of your Certified Dream Coaches. I'd like your
opinion about whether I would benefit from joining My Dream
Circle.
My
original dream statement was "To quit my job and work
on self-improvement projects at an accelerated pace."
I ended up quitting my job sooner than I expected! Now I'm
focusing on the two most important "dreams within my
dream," which concern my health and future employment.
I'm
working on my fitness dream and have a plan for dealing with
a health issue. About the "lucrative work"--I've
got a lot to figure out in that area!
Are
my dreams, especially the one about work, too general for
My Dream Circle? I'm committed, and I want to expand my network
of support and help others, too!
Sincerely,
S
From Marcia:
Dear
S,
How
lucky to be taking the class and to have so much desire about
two important dreams! Without good health it's hard to do
anything. By committing to that, you have taken a crucial
step. I applaud and salute you for quitting your job (sooner).
What courage and integrity. Now it's time to find meaningful
work that will align with who you are and what makes your
heart sing!
You
could not be better poised to join My Dream Circle. Our
special community of dreamers just opened, so the timing is
perfect! The clarity
will come, and come faster, with the assistance of my amazing
DreamTeam. Experience the monthly calls with me, the Coaching
Action Line, Dream Message Boards, and access to other dream
experts--I am sure you are going to love it!
You
will expand your network and be part of a community of big
dreamers like you. We all share the same thing--the commitment
to making our dreams come true. Please, come make My Dream Circle,
Your Dream Circle!
Warmly,
Marcia

Dear
Big Dreamer,
Everyday, all around us, we see evidence of how our
world is changing. Usually, the news we're exposed to is
not joyful in the least, much less inspiring.
We've
all heard, time and again, the cliches that urge each of
us to recognize that this is the one life we
have, and that there's no dress rehearsal. I believe
that means that each of us needs to step up and pay
attention to what we most want for ourselves -- and
those things often take shape as dreams.
Although
the world seems to be a crazy place, often leaving
individuals to feel that there's no positive
contribution to make, I urge you to see things
differently. Every dream we make real contributes
positively to the world around us; as our lives improve,
everything else does, as well. If you don't believe it,
think how much better you feel when you are surrounded
by people who are happy, fulfilled, and focused only on
the positives. There's a ripple effect that absolutely
does impact the world.
The
time is now, not next week, next month, or next year, to
take action on your dreams. Come along with me and find
out how you can make the time to do just that!
Warmly,
Marcia

It's
Important to Make Time for Your Dreams!
|
| |
In last
month's newsletter, we focused on helping you simplify
to make room for your dreams. This month, we're going
to look at the importance of making time for them as
well.
Time is a funny thing. Sometimes we feel that it's
closing in around us, but when there's something we're
passionate about, we can create a way to make time for
it and it often gets done faster.
One way
to find time for what matters is to use free time wisely
and fully. For instance, the only files I keep in my
office are the ones pertaining to the projects that are
designed to make my dreams come true. Each of my project
files has a list of strategies and tactics--the items to
do--attached to the front of it. If I'm in my office
with an extra hour, or even a few minutes between calls,
I can pull out one of my project files, do any item on
the list, and I'm in action on something that matters to
me. At the end of the day or the week, when I want to
plan ahead, I look at my project files and create the
next week.
Look at
what you do with free time you don't think of as "free"
time, because it generally doesn't come in big enough
blocks to seem meaningful. You know the time I mean: time spent driving to work, standing in line, sitting in
the car waiting for school to let out so you can collect
the kids in the carpool, while brushing and flossing
your teeth -- all the little pieces of time all we all
encounter during the day. If you're like most people,
your brain is pretty much turned off during those times,
or at best, it's engaged in something non-productive.
Remember that big dreams are created by taking many,
many little steps. Carry a list with you of the tiny
things you can do with small bits of time, and then
commit to doing them rather than spacing out while you
wait.
Many
people also find that scheduling everything helps them
find extra time. When you schedule something, your mind
sees it as a commitment. What better to commit to than
the actions that will help you achieve your dreams?
Remember to schedule your commitments to yourself,
first, and then work everything else around them.
Do it in ink so you can't erase it!
Lastly,
be honest with yourself. I'm convinced that people
make time for what matters most to them. If you're
constantly trying to make time for something, but find
that it's just not happening, look at things honestly
and ask yourself whether the thing you're trying to do
is really as important to you as you claim it is.
Chances are it won't be. If it's not, put it aside
and focus on something that is. The more attention and
intention you put behind your dreams, the more quickly
you'll see them made real. Making time, then using
that time wisely, is just the next step on the journey;
there's never been a more important time to act on
your dreams!

Kathleen
went to one of our workshops five years ago, where
she wrote down that her dream was to start her own
event planning business. She's currently in the
process of signing a lease for space to open up a
scrapbook store with weekend getaways and other
events that will be planned!
-
Nikki
heard Marcia speak last year, and was moved to work
on her life long dream! That dream was to record
music for the lyrics that had lived in her heart and
soul since the age of 14. She reports that she's
worked very hard, and now has six songs completed;
she hopes to finish the CD next month. She also let
us know that she's formed her own record label!
Congratulations, Kathleen and Nikki!
