am such an advocate of
simplification and shortcuts. If there's a quicker, easier way to get something
done, I do it -- and so should you, because the less time you spend laboring
over things, the quicker you'll get to your goals, and your dreams. Trust me,
realizing your dream will not feel sweeter because it took you longer and was
incredibly difficult to get to!
What resources
do you have access to that would help? Who do you know who
could make things move along more quickly, smoothly, or easily
for you? Is there someone you could hire or barter with to
do a piece that you don't have the skills for? Are all the
steps, as you've laid them out, really necessary (remember
the Myth of Prerequisites!)?
Are there resources
from completion of another project that could be useful in
this one? Sometimes resources, and therefore, shortcuts, overlap.
In my work, for instance, sometimes I'll write one thing for
a certain project, and find that with only slight modifications,
I can leverage it in a variety of directions for different
audiences.
As you develop
projects and get into action on them, opportunities, resources,
overlap and shortcuts appear, almost as if by magic. All of
these can be used to make other projects happen faster and
more easily. Just be open to seeing them the more you see
them and use them, the more of them will appear, and the faster
you'll realize the fullness of your dreams
Resources you can use:
Books: Any book that shows you how to do
something in a simpler way is good. Consider any of the
"Dummies" books (like Home
Buying for Dummies, Gardening
for Dummies, French
for Dummies, Insurance
for Dummies, Sewing
for Dummies or Project
Management for Dummies) to propel you into a
"shortcut" around something you want to learn, or
need to know.
Charts: Permacharts
are easy-to-follow quick-guides on all sorts of topics, like
Business Writing, Accounting, Basic Plumbing, Hanging
Wallpaper, and even Alternate Dispute Resolution!
