Marcia's Dream NoteDear Fellow Dreamers, As we bid farewell to 2004 and ring in the New Year, this is also the perfect time to say good-bye to an old habit or pattern that no longer serves you. I invite you to give something up or quit something that you have outgrown or are no longer passionate about and make room for some new dreams. I truly hope this issue on faith will help you reconnect to that deep part of yourself that truly knows what’s best for you and what will bring joy and abundance to you and those you love. May your Holiday Season be filled with blessings. Dream Big, Faith Will Help You Realize Your DreamsTo prove that we still have faith and courage, we have forged a community that is dedicated to helping people realize these dreams. Even if you tend to be overly realistic, you still have dreams. During those days when there is no evidence that your dream is possible, it’s essential to have a place to go. Turn to your fellow dreamers and turn inward toward your faith. As we believe and take risks, we can raise the proverbial bar because as we succeed, we will also dream bigger dreams. Many think, “I’ll believe in my dream when I see there’s proof that it’s likely to happen.” But the secret to living a “dream come true” life is to believe in your dream simply because it matters to you. In other words, looking for certainty “out in the world” is not the answer. Look in your own heart and choose to believe in your dream. Then, take action to demonstrate (to yourself and others) that you really do have faith. As we bring our intentions, offer support and resources to aid each other, what’s possible? During a time when many have lost hope, are afraid of dreaming or taking risks, this is the essential time for us to be bold. • What would you do if you believed in yourself? Let’s prove that we still have faith and dreams and demonstrate that our dreams are important by pursuing them. The conversation about dreams will change from one of fear, uncertainty and doubt to one of hope and possibility as we dream out loud for all to hear. Dream Quote
"Doubt is a feeling too lonely to know that Faith is its twin brother." ~ Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet Dear Marcia
My dream is to publish a book (well, more than one, but one is a starting place). Last week, I had an acquisitions editor email me about the possibility of writing a book on Reiki. Since you are a published author, I was wondering if you know of any excellent Web sites for book proposals or would be willing to share your book proposal. Any other ideas are welcome! T *** Dear T, Dreams of writing a screenplay or book, or getting published, are the dreams I hear most often. Sadly, many people never move to the strategy phase and clearly you have. Congratulations. For me, writing a proposal was harder than writing a book. When I began, I was told to write the entire book, which I did. I then used my dream shortcut. I asked every author I knew (two back then) to introduce me to their publishers, which they did. One of them published my first book. With print on demand and self-publishing opportunities the industry has changed, making it easier to get published. Here's a tip: Join us on Feb. 15th at My Dream Circle, when I interview Sam Horn, founder of the Maui Writers Conference. She knows everyone in the industry and you can ask her anything. www.samhorn.com Love, Need help? Send your questions to: Marcia@dreamcoach.com |
