Marcia's Dream Note

Dear Fellow Dreamers,

It’s official. We have launched The Dream Movement and as a fellow big dreamer, you are clearly part of it. Action equals movement, so if you are doing something on your personal or professional dreams, then I recognize and acknowledge you as a critical part of this effort. Now is the time to reflect upon what’s truly important and to act on it. And it’s never been a more important time to help those around us do the same.

Just a reminder, my Dream Weekend workshops are coming up and so is the Maui Dream Retreat! I invite you to bring a friend or someone close to you as we Create Your Future Now in San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Baltimore and Boston. Congratulations for being part of a powerful Dream Movement that will help restore faith and confidence.

Dream Big,

The Dream Movement

At a basic level, the path for achieving your dreams is as simple as A-B-C. Actually, it would be more accurate to say C-B-A. C – Clarity. Get clear about what you want. B – Believe in yourself and your dreams (see March's e-letter if you need help with this). And A – Act on what you believe.

Taking action sends the powerful and necessary message to your heart and soul (and brain) that your dream is important. Demonstrate that your dream matters by taking action. At its core, that’s what the Dream Movement is about. It’s not enough to talk about your dreams, just think about your dreams, or even just dream about your dreams. A dream without a plan remains a fantasy, a daydream or a nice idea. Taking action makes it real.

The Dream Movement is about taking that essential first step to prove that you are more committed to your dream than you are to your doubt, more committed to your dream than you are to your fear, and more committed to your dream than you are to reality (about the dream).

Reality is an important part of the process. You have to know where you are in order to design the appropriate strategy to get to your dreams, but I ask you this. What has being realistic cost you? If you are overly realistic it can cost you your passion and your dreams, and with it your joy, creativity and vitality.

Most people execute their dreams before they explore the possibility of making them real. The way to avoid this sabotaging pattern is to take that step. One of the most powerful steps you can take is to share your dream with another person. Once you tell another, your dream is out there in the world. If you share it with someone who cares about you, be prepared for them to ask how you’re doing, perhaps even helping you accomplish it. If you want to share your dream with us (click here) and/or join My Dream Circle where you'll get ongoing support to achieve it.

Dream Quote

“Life will transform as we summon the courage to believe and act upon our dreams.” ~ Marcia Wieder

Dear Marcia,

My challenge is figuring out what exactly my dream is. Is it possible I don't have a dream? Now that's a depressing thought! I know I must have dreams – I just seem to be stuck when it comes to putting them into words or visualizing them. What could be holding me back? Is there a process or an actual exercise to do to figure out what my dreams are?

I will have an opportunity to hear you in person in April – I am really looking forward to it!

Dear S.

You are not alone. So many of us have forgotten what our dreams are. First, know that your dream does not have to be a Mother Teresa Dream. A dream is simply something that you want. More quality time with your family, being paid well for doing what you love, being healthy and fit…are all good places to start. Begin by asking yourself, “What makes me happy?” Do one thing today that meets that criterion. Then, carve out a little DreamTime to connect with the dreamer inside of you that simply needs to be awakened.
