Marcia's Dream Note

Dear <$firstname$>,

After spending several days with a room full of fabulous Dreamers during our (sold out) Executive Speaker workshop, I feel inspired. I watched as people went from being terrified to speak publicly, to truly finding their voice as a visionary. There’s a reason our throat is between our head and our heart.  Expressing a vision with powerful presence moved us all to laughter, tears and action!

Transformation can occur in a moment if you are willing to take a risk. If you are a leader or have a message or a mission, please consider joining us for either the Inspiring Speaker program or the next Dream Coach Certification. Your voice needs to be heard and can change the world for the better. I hope you will allow me the privilege of helping you take your next big step. Isn't it time?

Share Your Gifts,

Spring Forward on Your Dreams

Spring is my favorite time of renewal and new beginnings. Every imaginable flower is in bloom and the air smells of jasmine and lilacs. Today I saw a pregnant blue jay and her mate on my deck, and I am writing this outside because (yeah) it’s warm and sunny. How can we not be inspired by nature, assuming we take the time to breathe the sweet scented air and to appreciate these gifts?

This spring brought something unusual when thousands of bees came to visit our neighborhood. We watched them swarm for two days, and their communal sound was so loud that I thought someone was vacuuming in the next room. It was eerie and felt like we were in the Alfred Hitchcock movie, The Birds, only with bees.

Monday, when I saw they were all over at a neighbor’s yard, I felt it was safe to have lunch outside. Within minutes they changed direction, heading for me, and I had to run into the house. Guess what? With all the homes in the neighborhood, they decided to move into ours and that’s where they are now building their massive hive. We’re mesmerized for hours watching these industrious little creatures, highly focused and intentional, as they fly in weighted with pollen and back out unburdened.

One of the things that make this extraordinary, is there is a serious bee shortage and the farmers are concerned about how their crops will get pollinated. Patrick thinks we should become bee keepers, so there are lots of puns buzzing around right now including, "Bee Nice", "Bee Kind" and "Bee Have, Honey."

As dreamers, we can learn much from them. Continuously, they work all day long as a community with a shared vision and with clarity of purpose, they work seamlessly and efficiently. As a generous, contributing member in their community, every one knows their role and works both together and alone.

And of course, the bees create delicious honey, which people all over the world use and enjoy. So, let’s Bee Thankful.

Dream Quote

"I dream for a living."
~ Steven Spielberg

 Dear Marcia,

I’ve heard you say often that we need to share our dreams but I am not comfortable speaking in public and I am afraid of rejection. Can you help?

Sincerely,
L

Dear L,

You are not alone. I know so many (myself included) who are challenged in one or both of these areas. Since the best way to experience shortcuts on any dream is to share it with others, your ability to speak (to any one, anytime, anyplace) is an essential skill to develop.

I have a two part answer. First, become inner referenced by appreciating yourself, your insight, and your gifts. Measure your success by your intentions, not just the outcomes. No one can actually reject you if you don’t let them. They may judge, criticize or ridicule you, but you are the one that decides how this will impact you.

Second, consider creating a simple practice of speaking to strangers. Once a day, or a few times a week, strike up a conversation with someone you don’t know. It helps to have a few friendly ice-breakers available or it might just be a casual hello. The only way I know to truly overcome the fear of speaking, is to do it. Once you feel more at ease with this, you can graduate. But let’s start with a simple step.

You and your dreams matter, and the world needs to hear from you.

Let me know what happens.

Warmly,
Marcia
