Marcia's Dream NoteDear <$firstname$>, I hope you are enjoying your summer. I am happy to be home after a fabulous trip to Australia. I gave a speech, Patrick and I spent a few fabulous days in Sydney and then went whale watching and diving at the Great Barrier Reef. Talk about making dreams come true, this was a magical experience. I hope you’ll plan a little DreamTime for yourself to create new dreams, follow your heart and do what makes you happy. Life is short and every day is precious. Live fully! Share Your Gifts, Summertime Dreams So, why not do both? I am a bit of a technophobe, meaning I don’t adapt quickly or easily to new gadgets. But a simple one that has changed my life is my wireless headset. I am outside with my laptop, enjoying the view and the fresh air, writing this article and with the touch of my ear, I can answer my phone. Life is good. Summertime is designed to remind us that "the living is easy,” or so the song says. The kids are home from school, you may have vacation time and if you live in a city where the temperature is high, you just may not want to move very fast. I often hear people lament about how challenging summer can also be. The kids may be home, but you still have work to do. Or you have a dream vacation planned, but between gas prices and traffic, you may be wondering if this is what a vacation is supposed to feel like. Here’s a tip for success. Ask yourself, “What can I do to make this easier and/or more fun?” Is there something that can be combined like having family or friends meet you at a destination rather than coming to your home? Or would holding the family reunion at your house make it easier for you? Can you travel off hours or off days, week days rather than weekends? As a big dreamer, don’t immediately compromise your dream down to what you know you can realistically accomplish. Get clear about what you want, including how you want to feel while accomplishing your dream. Then enroll your family into this dream and hear from everyone. Whether with your family, friends or company, when there’s “buy in” to the dream or vision, it tends to get accomplished with greater ease. I can hardly believe that by the time you read this it will be August. Please make sure you have some summertime fun. Whether you get away or stay at home (my new favorite place to vacation) carve out quality time for doing what you love. This will recharge your battery giving you more for everyone around you and most importantly, for your dreams. My Dream Circle members can tune-in on August 7th for a Live Session with Marcia on overcoming failures. Also receive 10 information packed e-books by joining My Dream Circle.

In This IssueDream Quote"Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability.” Dear Marcia,
I wish I could say that I have been plugging away at my dreams but sadly it’s not true. I always find some excuse to "derail" me. It’s easy to validate what happens and also cut myself some slack but I would like to be more focused and driven. How can I get out of this vicious cycle? B. Dear B, Thanks for being so honest. Some of us grow through praise and others through challenge. It’s odd but we tend to be more committed when someone else is holding us accountable. Find a friend, colleague or a professional coach who won’t cut you that slack. Find someone who will support you in acting on your dreams. Sometimes there even needs to be a consequence, like contributing to your favorite charity or cause, that may motivate you. Once you find what works, you’ll know and may find it easier to stick with it. Let me know what happens. Warmly, Need help? E-mail your questions. |
