Dream It, Do It or Dump It

This is no time to be pus*sy-footing around. If you have a dream, goal or idea that you have been considering, stop putting it off and take action on it this week…or better yet today.

Do you have lingering dreams? They often start out with, “maybe someday, when I have the time, money or energy, or once the kids have left home or gone off to college, then I’ll pursue my dream.”

Life is short, my friend. And the reality is, we never know when the proverbial end will appear. So why not live now, fully live and at least begin the pursuit of the dreams that call to your heart. 

At a time when the world feels chaotic and sometimes out of control, it’s a critical time for us to stand up for what we believe in. The popular voice or majority would say, “Nay.” But I know differently and I’ll bet you do too.

I’m not saying you should emotionally or financially spread yourself so thin that you put yourself in jeopardy or terrible stress, but I do know this. We desperately need to see a change. In the face of stock market declines, housing and bank fiascos and a general state of instability, the place to find comfort and peace is in your own heart and soul.

Can you believe in yourself and your dreams, simply because they matter to you? This is the best time or even the right time to make a change or take a risk. While many are running scared, some even in panic, do you realize how it would set you apart in your own eyes and the eyes of others if you went for your dreams regardless. I’ll bet you will even inspire others to do the same.

What will separate the dreamers from the doubters, the winners from the losers, the heart felt from the hard pressed, is our ability to believe in ourselves and each other.

And let me remind you, this is a choice. Can you choose to believe in yourself regardless of what's happening in the world? Can you muster the courage and conviction to take action one something that is important to you? Can you be the voice that speaks for hope, faith and a new future?

It’s time to dream a new dream. Both presidential candidates are telling us its time for change. We know this to be true. So, what’s the change that is overdue for you? If you knew you could not fail, (another choice) what would you decide and/or do? What small or large step can you take NOW to take control of your own life, destiny and future?

By making one or more of your important dreams a priority, you will find more energy and actually re-ignite your passion. Remember, not only is it not selfish to act on your dreams, but it’s an act of generosity. Connecting to what makes you happy, will give you more enthusiasm and joy to share with others.

I know this like I know my own name and mission in life. The power to change our lives and the world is in our hands. It’s only a dream away. Make it real by doing something! Then, regardless of what happens, you can feel empowered by your choice.
